Speed reading is about learning additional techniques to read more rapidly. After we learn to read as children we start by reading every letter individually. Once we have mastered the letters we then learn to place them together, always reading from left to right.

3. Books. This is the most cost effective method to learn to speed read. Your local library will probably have a selection of books available. As with the net course you’ll do that at your own rate and when it suits you best. But, the net course will contain motivational material. When you are sitting at home with a book you will need to be able to inspire yourself. This can be the hardest way to be told to speed read, however the results are just as good.

Remember that when you speed read there should be no loss of understanding of the text you’re reading. If you’re not understanding or absorbing what you are reading then you are not doing it properly, and it’s a waste of time.

The key to successful speed reading is practice. No matter you are doing, you’ll need to read printed material and also the quicker you’ll do this the more efficient you will be.
